Should I Store Cannabis in my Freezer?

There are a number of factors to take into account as you decide what kind of storage solution is best for you. It is important to understand the factors that can contribute to the degradation of your cannabis stash and how to avoid them. Moisture, light, temperature, and air can all play a part in harming cannabis, so you always want to ensure that your cannabis is protected from the elements.

Deep Freeze

There are several benefits to storing cannabis in the freezer: freezer insulation provides safety from overly warm temperatures prevents the growth of mold and bacteria, keeps infused materials fresher longer, prevents spoilage, and blocks off moisture from entering the roots of plants causing them to rot.

Storage Matters

Plastic jars can encourage moisture, which is why we always recommend using a sealed glass jar. A vacuum seal is ideal, however, if it is not a possibility, ensure you have an air-tight seal to keep it as fresh as possible. Anything plastic has a static charge that will put the trichomes off the flower. Trichomes are what help contribute to the unique taste and aroma of each cannabis strain.

Only Flowers

Although it may save you space, we do not recommend storing your cannabis flower with any other product. This means that your storage container should be for your cannabis only, and not any kind of lighters, papers, or other paraphernalia that could alter the cannabis in any way.
